Betfair Exposed - Day 1 - A trader's diary

Brought to you by EasyTraderPro

Dear reader,

Thanks for signing up to the EasyTrader mailing list.

Over the next few days I will fill you in on how trading on Betfair works, and how we can use it to ensure maximum profit for minimum effort. I will also show you some secret insights from my very own trading diary, to give you proof of EasyTrader's profitability (see below).

As you should be aware by now, the pack currently includes over £450 of trading materials, and is simply the de facto guide for trading on Betfair. With over 180 pages of information, and more than 30 minutes of training videos you would be wise to snap it up before I move the price to the usual market level (other trading ebooks sell for about £100 and full on interactive packs like Easy Trader sell for £400 and up, no lie).

First, though, let's start with a trading tip.

Trading tip #1 : Watch the graphs.

If you click on a horse's name in any race it will bring up the information box for that horse. Focus on the price graph and you will see fluctuations in the odds of the horse in question over time. Here is a graph from a horse that I successfully traded on a few weeks ago. Note how the price has risen continuously - we call this a drifter:

Keep your eye on the graphs of all the low-priced horses that you see in a race, and you should see some trends. Often, simply by looking at the graph you can work out which way a price is going, and jump in at the right time. Remember, if the price is rising we want to lay first and then back later at a higher price, and vice-versa.

Reading graphs is known as trend analysis, and it is something I cover in depth in the EasyTrader Pro handbook. If you want to maximise your profits, and save time click here for more information

Before you do that, though, I want to prove that I can do what I say I can - that I can and will make you some serious profits.

Cast your eyes over the following trading notes, and see for yourself the kind of results EasyTrader generates:

Trading diary day 1

Due to several requests I have started logging my returns from the system; cast your eye over some recent successes. What is really impressive is I have been focusing on other things recently, and as such have had limited time to focus on the system, but it still churns out some good returns for minimal input.

Please also note that the diary only represents the profit targets for one of the systems included in the package, the Easy Trader core system. I haven't even had chance to do a diary for the new Easy Trader WOM system, which is intended to create `day-job ending` income, and all from a bank as small as £50.

Thurs 30th December 2005 - Total profit £145

1. First trade of day opened on Nippy Des Mottes using system (2nd fav, 14.40, Taunton). Opened trade at an average price of 4.40 and closed at average of 3.85, using a stake of £220. Total profit if horse wins = £121. I could have greened this one up, but decided against it, as I felt it had a good shot at winning. My judgement proved correct, and the horse went on to win, giving us a profit of £121 on the first trade of the day. Excellent:

2. The second trade I opened was on Private Be, a heavy odds-on favourite at the 14.30 at Taunton. As the horse was very low priced, I could put quite a bit on it, with little fear of the trade swinging erratically against me. The horse was a steamer, so I backed first at 1.53 for £300, and then about 20 minutes before the off closed the trade with a lay bet at 1.45 for the same amount. This gave me a £24 profit if the horse was to win, and break-even if not. As expected, the horse won, and I collected my profit of £24:

3. Finally, I opened a trade on another odds-on favourite that looked like a steamer, Pirate Flagship, at 1.85. Unfortunately, I appeared to have come late to the party on this one, and the price undulated around this mark for a while, suggesting a possible reversal was imminent. Unimpressed I closed the trade, in line with the system requirements. I was right to, and the price actually drifted within a few minutes. This was a break even trade that could have been a loss, had I not followed the guidelines within the system.

Profit for December 30th - £145

A good day, with 2 profitable trades and 1 that broke even. The system regularly turns out profits like this, but I am having to devote less and less time to it, and I believe the day could have been much more profitable had I given it due attention (I had my bank partially deployed elsewhere too). Obviously, the guide returned double the cost of the manual in the space of 3 hours or so, which I think is quite impressive, so hopefully that gives you some indication of typical returns once you get into the system. I will try and add more trades as I do them.

Remember, also, that this is only one part of the guide - there are two WOM guides, 30 minutes of training video and an in-play guide - which I will come onto later, along with some more tips.
